My Book
THE INTEGRATED SELF
The Journey from Survival to Flourishing
Creating a Safe Home Within

What if there was never anything wrong with you?
What if the parts of yourself you've spent years trying to fix were never flaws at all, but intelligent adaptations that helped you survive? Anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, emotional overwhelm, self-doubt, and disconnection may not be evidence that you are broken, they may be signs of a nervous system that learned to protect you the best way it could.
This book offers a new way of understanding human behaviour, inviting you to look beyond your symptoms and discover the wisdom hidden within your survival strategies. Rather than encouraging you to become someone else, it gently guides you toward integrating the parts of yourself that were separated in order to keep going.
As those fragmented parts begin to reconnect, something remarkable happens. You cultivate safety within, develop deep self-trust, and move from merely surviving to consciously leading your own life. No longer driven by fear or old adaptations, you begin to live with greater clarity, authenticity, resilience, and purpose.
This is more than a self help book about healing. This book is an invitation for people to reflect on their own journey through developmental stages and discover what they seek externally already lives within themselves. This will require a reflective inner journey to identify the different versions of themselves that reside in their internal world, clear away the clutter of old adaptive patterns, beliefs, find the truth and wisdom and share that with others around them.
May your journey home to yourself uncover the safety, freedom, wholeness, and quiet strength that have been waiting within you all along.

Ruby Allsop is a trauma-informed practitioner, educator, and founder of the Integrated Life Coaching. For more than a decade, she has worked alongside children, young people, parents, carers, and professionals, supporting individuals affected by trauma, family adversity, and complex life experiences.
Drawing on both her professional experience and her own journey of healing and integration, Ruby developed the Integrated Self Framework a compassionate approach that helps people understand their survival adaptations, reconnect with the parts of themselves they have had to separate, and create lasting change through wholeness rather than self-improvement.
Ruby believes that we are not broken; we are beautifully adapted. Her work invites people to move beyond merely surviving and towards creating a safe home within themselves, where self-trust, authenticity, and self-leadership can flourish.
The Integrated Self is the culmination of her life's work and a heartfelt invitation to rediscover the wisdom, resilience, and wholeness that have always existed within us.
Ruby's greatest hope is to contribute to a world where every person knows how to create a safe home within themselves and where that inner safety transforms families, workplaces, communities, and future generations.
